You can't efficiently manipulate DPMS settings in opensuse 10.1. Whatever you change monitor will blank (so no screensaver bug 187081) and after system restart custom power settings are not kept. Not only settings are not preserved for individual user but also admin can't force specific policy for all users. So you have bunch of apps that do not work. In contrast all this works in Arch linux. It seems that the minor number stored in the md superblock is preferred now (use mdadm --misc --detail /dev/mdX to list it). The fix is to stop the array and assemble it manually once with updating the super-block with '--update=super-minor'. In yast 2 I entered the user configuration, choose LDAP users from the filter 2. (As it seems the longest USB2 certified cables are 1.80m, while mine was 3m.
