The init command runs /var/cfengine/bin/cf-promises using /var/cfengine/inputs/promises.cf as input. That file is not there. There is a copy in /var/cfengine/masterfiles. Because the one command fails the server goes into failesafe mode and clients are unable to connect with Bad protocol reply 'BAD: key could not be accepted on trust' /var/cfengine/bin/cf-promises -c /var/cfengine/inputs/promises.cf I copied it to inputs and then ran the command by hand. It then looks for cf_agent.cf cf_execd.cf cf_monitord.cf cf_runagent.cf cf_serverd.cf in /var/cfengine/inputs/controls. It then looks for the following files in /var/cfengine/inputs/lib/3.5/. I created empty files to get past the file not found, but it still fais because it is trying to reference item in the missing files. bundles.cf commands.cf common.cf databases.cf files.cf guest_environments.cf monitor.cf packages.cf paths.cf processes.cf services.cf storage.cf promises.cf is configured to look for the lib files twice. Once is hard coded, lib/3.5/, and the other by substitution lib/$(sys.cf_version_major).$(sys.cf_version_minor). Dave W Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. My second (also failed) attempt was a laptop with no ethernet cable. A screen showed up, asking me to configure the WiFi adapter. I went through the steps to configure it. Then the next screen told me that "iw" is not installed, so the wifi setup failed. Otherwise %{_libdir} is not expanded to /usr/lib64 but /usr/lib which is wrong here. I know you package puppet as noarch, but this leads to stuff being installed in wrong places. Another option would be to include symlinks from lib64 places to the lib places and stay with noarch. I am having that other bug that I actually upgraded a 13.1 or so opensuse 32bit via zypper dup to factory and it never booted again hanging at loading initrd during bootloader stage (grub2 or so) see my other bugreport: #bnc894763 bnc#894763 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=894763 and I tried to use the downloaded .iso image openSUSE-Factory-DVD-i586-Snapshot20140901-Media.iso via an usb stick and boot the install process from there and try to fix my local installtion or its booting problems, but the installer on the .iso media would never offer me to upgrade the locally present /dev/sda2 (which is root / , sda1 = swap) all it shows is to create new partition layout or add sda2 and sda3 as new root or home and so on, but it would not install "over" the current already existing but messed up factory system on the local sata disk. is upgrade not implemented yet or what is wrong here? i am stuck with a completely disabled system for weeks now :( thanks. However, this is not something I can control, the two lines are identical and it is arbritrary which line diff chooses to include in the added lines. The rpm file it builds contains file modules.dep with absolute path.
