All new users created later, are. This causes a problem with the proprietary nvidia driver. glxinfo will show this: NVIDIA: could not open the device file /dev/nvidiactl (Permission denied) direct rendering: No Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. I can see that open-vm-tools 9.2.2 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/open-vm-tools/files/open-vm-tools/stable-9.…) has been available for months. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Try to use any of the functionality offered by open-vm-tools such as clipboard integration with the host OS or automatic screen re-size 3. You might probably let the people from GNOME know about this and work together on a solution. Also, GNOME works fine when using KDM, so it's just the GDM package that has some kind of problem. Actual Results: When GDM is supposed to show to login, nothing happens, it only shows the background. Expected Results: To show the login screen.
