So gitolite can not install and not use. When i do the command from spec-file manuall on console, so it comes this error: useradd: Warning: home directory already exists, not modifying it. Bevor i install gitolite, i had no dir /srv/git. The error didn't occur in first place. It started with a failed wake up from suspend (maybe related to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=674245 ). After that crash, the device causes the system to freeze, even when used from a clean environment (OpenSUSE 11.4 RC2 Live CD). After this I made some changes using yast2 in order to have an IP address allocated by dhcp and I enabled sshd. I copied using winscp the files like virtualbox-guest*, I installed them (virtualbox-guest-kmp-desktop-4.2.6_k3.7.6_1.2-3.1.7.i586.rpm installation was not succesful), then I made an update using yast2 (Software -- > on-line). Then I made a reboot. After reboot, in the boot phase I can see the message: Failed to start LSB: Starts the xinet daemon. Be aware ...inetd software. See "system status xinetd.d service for details". The system does not boot anymore and crashes in this phase. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Instead openldap refuses to start and gives the message: ldap[31866]: Starting ldap-server/usr/lib/openldap/slapd: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.16.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/Digest/MD5/MD5.so: undefined symbol: Perl_xs_apiversion_bootcheck The Digest::MD5 module is just the first used perl module of my ldap perl module. The behaviour is unchanged if I include other modules. A perl script started from shell using the very same modules works fine. My guess is, that the perl-backend-module is compiled with wrong flags (multi-threaded vs. non-multi-threaded).
