However, the module tells me then that "setting the hotkey mask to 0x00ffffff is likely not the best way to go about it please consider using the driver defaults, and refer to up-to-date thinkpad-acpi documentation" The hotkey mask is set to 0xffffff in /etc/modprobe.d/50-thinkpad_acpi.conf. In contrast to the time the old Bug 534416 was reported, Documentation/laptops/thinkpad-acpi.txt now explicitly says that "hotkey_recommended_mask" is the default mask used by the driver. Thus, the "hotkey=0xffffff" could be removed completely if we wanted the defaults.
