So, I've feel this out with firefox and monodevelop, some of the keyboard shortcuts in these applications doesn't work, if it is alt based, if I change the movement key to ctrl based, the alt ones start working, and vice-versa... It's bad, because some unique features in these applications are only triggered out by certain keyboard shortcuts... I decide to keep kernel-desktop-base and let the new kernel be installed. Later when I try to update this package in yast or with zypper I still get the same error while both are the 3.4.2-1-desktop versions. An install from a live cd doesn't seem to have this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Perform openSUSE installation 2. When the system is up, verify that open-vm-tools are missing. 3. Try to install them through Yast2 applet to see it to crash 4. Try to install them through zypper to see it complaining for missing dependencies.
