In the development project devel:languages:perl/perl-Test-Unit a _link file existed that pointed to Factory. In the web-ui a warning box appeared indicating that the package did not exists. When I checked out the package from devel:languages:perl and submitted a fix the package did not rebuild properly, i.e. my patch did not get applied. Only after I manually removed the _link file through the web-ui did my patch get picked up and the build issue was resolved. Steps to reproduce: 1. Click the NM icon and select Network Settings > Wireless. 2. Click "Use as Hotspot" and confirm the pop-up, then enter the root password. Almost immediately, the following information is shown in the Network Settings dialog: * Security (in my case WEP) * Network Mame (in my case, machine's hostname) and * an (automatically generated?) security key 3. Click Options next to the Hotspot button and enter the root password to continue. 4. Switch to the Wireless Security tab, check "Show Key" and try to change the key. Upon typing, the Save button becomes inactive and is greyed out so that is is not possible to save the changes. Any other options (for example the Connection name" at the top of the dialog can be changed but as soon as you touch the key, the Save button is deactivated. Does NM automatically check which encryption types are supported by the WLAN card in the machine and select the best one? Or how is it possible that WEP is automatically set? If that is a NM feature that's OK for me, as long as I can change the encryption by clicking the Options button. I have tested the application with openmotif 2.3.3 and it works fine again. openmotif 2.3.3 was released in march 2010. So it should have already been part of opensuse 11.4. Please update the openmotif package in 12.1 such that we do not have to use self compiled libraries. Consequently wifi does no lobger work. I switched back to the last version 173 which solves the problem for me right now. I also realized that there is no more /lib/udev/rules.d/50-firmware.rules file in the rpm. I tried to use the old rules file but that didn't work. I use the packages from Base:System if available otherwise from Factory. It worked with previous versions and also with SLES 11 I have code relying on the fact that vsnprintf is able to count the number of required buffer characters by calling it with a NULL str pointer and a size of 0 (From 'man vsnprintf') " int vsnprintf(char *str, size_t size, const char *format, va_list ap); ... Concerning the return value of snprintf(), SUSv2 and C99 contradict each other: when snprintf() is called with size=0 then SUSv2 stipulates an unspecified return value less than 1, while C99 allows str to be NULL in this case, and gives the return value (as always) as the number of characters that would have been written in case the output string has been large enough. ... NOTES ... Please use %set_permissions instead to only set permissions for files contained in thttpd.
