Works even in the Python shell where you can do stuff. The segfault doesn't happen until you exit the shell. Apparently doesn't happen on Ubuntu, so I file my bug report here. Possible things to import before kdecore: - "from PyKDE4.plasma import Plasma" - "from PyKDE4.plasmascript import DataEngine" - "from PyKDE4 import plasmascript" - probably others Example: 23:45 ~/tmp $ cat > a.py from PyKDE4 import plasmascript;from PyKDE4.kdecore import * 23:45 ~/tmp $ python a.py [1] 27501 segmentation fault python a.py 23:45 ~/tmp $ Using KDE 4.4.0 packages from factory for 11.2. python-qt4 4.7-38.1 python-sip 4.10-33.1 python-kde4 4.4.0-132.2 python-kdebase4 4.4.0-414.1 anything else? All of them had postfix stop working, because /etc/sysconfig/postfix needs a new map in POSTFIX_MAP_LIST named "relay". After SuSEconfig in the new 11.2, a new main.cf is installed, needing a relay.db, which doesn't exist, so postfix stops working. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. take an opensuse 11.1 2. zypper dup to 11.2 3. I'm hit by this but and workaround, i.e. MALLOC_CHECK_, makes my machines leak memory on vanilla sles11 kernel. Memory does not leak as long as no binaries requiring MALLOC_CHECK_ run there.
