(tested as user and with kdesu) I have never had this problem before, so something went south. I have selected as home a previous encrypted partition. However it failed to mount it. I have checked and found out that the file system for the partition in /etc/fstab was set to unknown and the same the access rights. Set them manually and everything was fine after.
