I was able to CTRL+ALT+"+" to get X to use a lesser screen resolution and complete the installation. For the preferred Resolution of 1280x1024 (or 1280x768) the suggested Vertical refresh rate is way out of spec at 165 Hz - I found my manual and it advises a setting of 60-65 Hz. Within the system tray, the KMix, Klipper and OpenSuse Updater images become corrupted. The usual background colour changes to deep black in a clear square around the icon. Actual functionality remains however. It requires "Lchown", which comes in package "perl-lchown", which you forgot to include in the distro. Worse, rsnapshot does not depend on perl-lchown, the installer doesn't advise of this requirement.
