However, it didn't give me the option to follow the build-time dependencies specified via the BuildRequires directive: BuildRequires: OpenEXR-devel cups-devel db-devel doxygen fdupes graphviz hal-devel kdelibs3-devel krb5-devel libsmbclient libsmbclient-devel mDNSResponder-devel openldap2 openldap2-devel openmotif openmotif-devel openslp-devel openssh pam-devel pcsc-lite qt3-devel-doc samba-client utempter xorg-x11 so I had to manually install a load of -devel rpms before rpmbuild -bp kdebase3.spec would work. I think it's important that if following source dependencies is implemented, it be made optional, preferably by prompting each time source-install is invoked. Check whether the server is accessible. and just "WRONG" in the details :-( right now I get the error for "mutt" and "muttprint", yesterday I could not install "libglade2-devel" with the same errors. other RPMs updated just fine (other repo ?). After I got a running system again, I google'd and found this: http://www.mail-archive.com/bug-tar@gnu.org/msg01362.html which is exactly the problem I encountered. The last message in that thread contains a patch, as does CVS probably. The bug is present in both 10.3 and 11.0 (rc1) versions of openSUSE, at least those versions of tar that are on the rescue media. If it were not for star restoring my backup would have been very painful! I get a message about an issue with a repo (content is unsigned, continue y/n) but at that point where I need to make a decision it does not tell me what repo has the problem. And the way the continue prompt is worded I expect it to apply to the whole operation not just refreshing that particular repo. During installation of packages YaST show error "installation of package fail" (see screenshot). Clicking "try again" fix the problem. I also had a problem that installator show message: unable to verify source signature (maybe this is related to this problem).
