That means either everyone can execute the file or no one. This doesn't allow for a user or a group to be allowed to execute it without allowing everyone. This is technically a feature request since the feature is not implemented. For instance, if I have a USB harddrive connected and try to unmount it (while it is being used), a message shows up "Cannot unmount volume. An application is preventing the volume from being unmounted". lsof gives this; bash 7578 mboman cwd DIR 8,17 115 131 /media/disk/pub So a better way would be to parse this and tell the user that mboman is "responsible" and perhaps add (bash/cwd) in there as well. Can fix within the session using "Configure Desktop" -> "Desktop" -> "Behaviour"; select "Icons on desktop"=No, Apply, wait for it to action then restore to Yes. Once corrected, session is fine. There are at least 3 different behaviours. KDE programs, GNOME programs and OpenOffice.org all render their fonts (e.g. in the menus) differently. Clearly, OOo looks very different from the rest, but there's also a slight difference between GNOME and KDE programs (which is nevertheless annoying). Maybe every library has a different dpi resolution?
