Summary: Missing Dependency in GDB 6.6
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Minor
Priority: P5 - None

In testing a possible bug in gdb 6.5 shipped with 10.2, I grabbed the srpm from
factory and hit a minor snag, missing textinfo BuildRequires
././libiberty/libiberty.texi
WARNING: `makeinfo' is missing on your system. You should only need it if
you modified a `.texi' or `.texinfo' file, or any other file
indirectly affecting the aspect of the manual. The spurious
call might also be the consequence of using a buggy `make' (AIX,
DU, IRIX). You might want to install the `Texinfo' package or
the `GNU make' package. Grab either from any GNU archive site.

I have a similar problem: My AP has a hidden ssid. I connect with the
traditional method with ifup. ifup reports the interface to be up, however, I'm
not connected to the AP. I'm using an ipw2200 card with WPA-PSK. (as eth1)
I believe this is a problem with wpa_supplicant (see Bug 972 of wpa_supplicant,
http://bughost.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=972).
I tried Ingo's suggestion of starting wpa_supplicant directly as root.
wpa_supplicant scans the available networks and it doesn't connect because of
"SSID mismatch".
Strangely enough, with openSUSE 10.1, it worked fine. The problem only occured
after upgrading to openSUSE 10.2.
To get a connection: after "ifup eth1", do "iwconfig eth1 essid myessid"
Workaround: in /etc/sysconfig/network/scripts/ifup-wireless, after line 639
(eval wpa_supplicant -i$INTERFACE -c$WPA_SUPP_CONF -D$WPA_DRIVER $SUPPARGS)
insert following line:
iwconfig $INTERFACE essid $WIRELESS_ESSID

Sometimes sound is not working for me. A few times i have also heard a short
beep out of the speakers when i open a text file. There are many messages in
kdm.log like: Could not initialise connection to hald.
Normally this means the HAL daemon (hald) is not running or not ready.
