[opensuse-wiki] Wiki Transition

Hello All, Last week, I posted an article on the news blog about the schedule for the move of the new wiki to en.opensuse.org. To summarize, the change will begin at 17:00 UTC (~30 minutes from now) and will last 10-15 minutes. Please make sure to wrap up any work you are doing on the new wiki by this time, so that you do not lose anything. I will send another message to the list when I am finished, and you may resume any work you are doing at that time. If you have any questions, please give me a call at my office at 1 801-861-2722. Thanks, Matt

Everything should be up and running now. We had a little glitch with memcached storing some stale data, but everything else went smoothly. Please contact me right away if you see problems. -Matt

Hi I would have thought it would redirect from the old link and say 'Hey, update your bookmarks'? I found it here, so it's a subtle change in the title from how_to to howto http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_cross_distribution_howto Now to update all my bookmarks and I thought I was going to have a quiet afternoon here ;) -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (x86_64) Kernel 2.6.32.13-0.4-default up 1 day 20:09, 2 users, load average: 0.16, 0.35, 0.29 GPU GeForce 8600 GTS Silent - Driver Version: 256.35 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Hello, I think that I have a little bug to show. When I click on Log in, the login div appers poorly formatted[1], and the textbox don't show what you are putting. This not happens all the time, but happens with some frequency and only when using Google Chrome (5.0.375.99/Windows). And, the Community Map[2] are not working properly. I'm planing to transfer this completely into the wiki with the semantics map extension. Stay tuned... Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. As a temporary solution, I changed the map to fetch coordinates from old-en.opensuse.org. That's better than en empty map ;-)
I'm planing to transfer this completely into the wiki with the semantics map extension. Stay tuned...
I don't know this semantics map extension, but if the map will still be handled on my server, I'd prefer if the syntax didn't change ;-) Please tell me when it's ready so that I can change the URL (or if my server isn't needed anymore for the map, I'll add a redirect). Hi! I notice that the links in the top-menubar points to wiki.o.o although I am browsing a page in en.o.o. For a person browsing en.opensuse.org, the link Support > Help should be to http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Support instead of the current http://wiki.opensuse.org/Portal:Support . in fact it was said some time ago that the wiki change would be a switch (en becoming wiki and wiki becoming en), but it's not like this at present time (the old wiki is at "old-en....") jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.facebook.com/pages/I-support-the-Linux-Documentation-Project/3720... http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-fan-page-of-Claire-Dodin/106485119372062?v... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

Is anyone else having this problem? I cannot duplicate it. You may have to do a hard refresh, start a new browser session, or even clear your cache, but the top and side links should be keeping you in the same place.

It was decided last week that it would be confusing to switch the two wikis, so a new location was created for the legacy English wiki. That's all that I know about it. Hopefully it didn't cause more confusion than it prevented... -Matt

I did that by clearing the entire cache from firefox, but the same problem. I don't know how this works but could this result from some hard-links here http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Browse like [http://wiki.opensuse.org Wiki]? The problem exists no matter any of the things you suggest. As I recall the new pages are now at en.openSUSE.org but wiki.o.o is an alias for en.o.o , - so the wiki.o.o links will do not much harm. But maybe sometime someone with access will change the URL of the menu bar but I do not rate that as a prior priority... This is not only a wiki problem. We still have to redesign the login pages (and many more), it's on the todo list of the boosters.
