how to get servers to update

Alright, I am closer to getting Uyuni set up the way we want it. Now, how can we get our servers that are registered to update through Uyuni? Uyuni 2022.03 new setups or updates, broken after April 20th 07:03UTC

Hello, For those of you that installed Uyuni 2022.03 or updated from a previous version after pril 20th 07:03UTC, you will notice that the WebUI does not start and you see a HTTP error 404. Anyway that installed or updated before that date and time should not be affected by this This problem was caused by a netty update at openSUSE Leap 15.3. Uyuni erroneously reports packages need to be updated?

Sorry all, but here's another problem I have run into. My Uyuni interface is reporting 8 packages that need to be updated on this server, yet when I try to run the update, I get the error that there are no packages found. So on the server itself, when I run "yum update", I get "No packages marked for update". So why is Uyuni reporting there are packages that need to be updated? Create vms with VmWare - possible?

Hi Quick question: Can Uyuni provision new VMs using VmWare, or is that functionality restricted to Xen and Kvm? Background: We have a VCenter cluster running our vms. By following the documentation here<https://www.uyuni-project.org/uyuni-docs/en/uyuni/client-configuration/virt…>, I've successfully added Vsphere as a VHM and it's populating correctly. (Thanks for the bugfix in the new Uyuni version that now does correctly display the Virtualization tab that allowed me to get further than last time I tried this) But the "Create Guest" link as mentioned in the docs is absent. Elsewhere in the official docs it does say For VMWare, including VMWare vSphere, and Nutanix AHV, Uyuni requires you to set up a virtual host manager (VHM) to control the VMs. This gives you control over the hosts and guests, but in a more limited way than available with Xen and KVM. But I've also found this on some unofficial documentation here<https://infallible-goldberg-3dc8f3.netlify.app/uyuni/master/advanced_topics…> that seems to give more specific guidance Autoinstalling and managing {vmguest}s via Uyuni is limited to {xen} and {kvm} guests. Public key not installed?

OK, I am getting so close to having a fully operational centralized package management system. Just need to figure out this one last issue (I hope). After removing some of the old spacewalk packages, and then re-attach the servers to Uyuni, I am now seeing this message when trying to update the packages - both within Uyuni and on the server itself when I run yum update: Public key for python2-hwdata-2.3.5-5.1.uyuni.noarch.rpm is not installed What am I missing? sync autoinstall snipped folder with git repo

Hi List, we are storing autoinstall snipped files (/var/lib/cobbler/snippets/spacewalk/1/) in a Azure DevOps (git) repo. In ADO we trigger a pipeline on every push to master. This pipeline can copy files from repo to our uyuni server using ssh, execute a script on uyuni server, and various other tasks. I did not find any information regarding git versioning of uyuni files/folders online, so i am curious: How do you do jobs like this? Local Repos on uyuni server? Is there already any plan to implement git support in uyuni for cases like this? Or would a feature request be helpful? Thanks, BR Heiner

unable to register

Thanks all for the help earlier. Now I am just trying to get our servers registered to our local Uyuni system. Uyuni proxy does not cache *.deb packages ?

SUSE Manager

Apologies for the newbie question here, but I've installed Uyuni on a Open SUSE Leap virtual server in the hopes of using it for a centralized package management system for all of our CentOS servers. However, we do not have a SUSE Manager account. Is there no other way to get software channels registered in Uyuni other than having a subscription to SUSE Manager?

minor issues trying to use rhnpush

We ran into some minor issues trying to load packages into a custom child channel. First, rhnpush wouldn't recognize deb packages.
