Apologies for the newbie question here, but I've installed Uyuni on a Open SUSE Leap virtual server in the hopes of using it for a centralized package management system for all of our CentOS servers. However, we do not have a SUSE Manager account. Is there no other way to get software channels registered in Uyuni other than having a subscription to SUSE Manager?
Hi Jamen.
Just follow the steps described in this doc section: https://www.uyuni-project.org/uyuni-docs/en/uyuni/client-configuration/clien...
You don't need SUSE account for it.

Thank you Victor. I actually tried that at first, but got prompted for a "SUSE Manager username:"
opensuse:~ # spacewalk-common-channels -a x86_64 centos7 centos7-uyuni-client centos7-updates SUSE Manager username:
Hence the reason for my post. Ideas?

That's in fact the "Uyuni username", but that string was not adapted yet.
Or in other words, the administrator user and password for the Uyuni Server. The one you created when you accessed the WebUI the first time :-)

Hi
We are not yet there to have a de-branding of all the strings in SUMA/Uyuni. If you see somethere "SUSE Manager username", just replace it in mind with "Uyuni username".
Here you are asked for an admin account on your Uyuni Server. This is required to add new channels.
P.S: feel free to open a Pull Request to apply the correct branding String in this case.
