AtomBIOS/PM: Detect wrong size value in VoltageObj table.
Some Voltage Object tables contain a size of 0. If this isn't caught
the driver will hang in an endless loop.

Your log show it's detecting 1366x768 and 1280x800 modes.

What you are seeing here is once more the infamous MC idle problem.
You said this problem started after you've upgraded. Which version
were you using before? Is there a chance you can git bisect this issue?
Also the latest git version of the driver has got some stuff which at
least should help debugging this issue. Maybe you can get that version
and send a log file again from a situation where this happens.

Hi,
I have problems with my video card. All drivers "ati", "radeon" and
"radeonhd" ver. 1.2.5 and 1.3 don`t work. Even installers on most
popular distributions don`t start. "Ati" and "Radeon" crashes my
system totaly with black screen (backlight is on). Radeonhd
performing differently with different AccelMethod:
1. "shadowfb" - working correctly. If there is Option "DRI" when very
slow, without DRI performance is better. 3D acceleration not working.
2. XAA - image artifacts and black boxes (I guess black boxes are
windows and dialogs). It don't crash system but X is unusable.
3. EXA - disorted image and total system crash after few seconds.
There is no keyboard response so I have to turn off system.

hi there,

i'm setting up a new system which has a ga-ma785gmt motherboard, which
in turn has an integrated radeon HD 4200. i've successfully configured
video and audio over my hdmi output, but i can't get Xvideo/DRI working.
is this card supported?

I have some troubles with the "radeonhd" driver and this gfx card:
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB (RV710) pci id “1002:954f”
Basically mostly everything is working correctly, except one issue:
I cannot set full resolution on one of the screens.
I have a TV and a 22" monitor connected to the card.
The monitors native resolution is 1680x1050 but when I try to set it,
i cant get a stable image from it, it is full of tearing lines.
These tearing lines show up when I either change resolution using Gnome
Display Preferences, or xrandr directly like this:
xrandr --output DVI-I_2/digital --mode 1680x1050
Currently i can work around the issue by using 1280x1024 resolution
instead for this monitor.

2D/3D: Fix Lockups on R5XX when running DRI clients with EXA/Textured Video.
Don't read out or set pipe parameters when engine is active.
Doing so might lock up the engine.
This fixes a long standing issue with 2D acceleration on R5xx.

I2C: Fix I2C readout.
The Radeon driver attempts to save/restore the hw scaler registers
by reading/writing the range of registers which address the video scaler.
While doing so it also touches the TAP Control index/data registers.
Uncontrolled touching of the data register seems to have an adverse
effect on the ability to run HW supported I2C read out. This running
RadeonHD after running the Radeon driver results in no DDC data.
The reason for this has not been understood however it has been found
experimentally that reading back the scaler data register is able to
'fix' this issue.
We put this hacky workaround in the code until we obtain a better
understanding of the issue.

Scaler: Add support to send TV mode the HW scaler.
AtomBIOS takes in a TV mode to determine the correct multi tab
values. Although TV mode support has not been completed this patch
adds support for this.
It also replaces scaler register values by their symbolic names.

Involvement in the kernel dev discussion about (possibly) faulty mtrr issues on some Toshiba laptops

Dear devs of the radeonhd driver,
I am one of the Toshiba laptop owners who are unable to run X with
radeon drivers and the 4GB installed.
As you know, you thought this to be a faulty mtrr setup of these laptops
that could only be resolved at the kernel level.
So, I brought this to the kernel ml and opened a bug about it :

However, from the responses I got at the ml, it seems that kernel devs
do not agree that the problem is rooted in the mtrr setups -at least

opinions and knowledge on the matter with the kernel devs so that we
could solve the issue affecting so many people...

Hi,
Sorry for not using word-wrap - so that the logs don't look messed up.
I recently bought an HP Pavilion dv6 series laptop which comes with Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics chip with 1GB GDD3 VRAM.
It seems to be common with the dv6 series laptops from HP.
The basic radeonhd X driver with the mainline radeon GPU driver gives me pretty nice X environment.
However, there are two issues that I'd like to know more about:
1.
the X.org logs show that the entire VRAM is not being used - instead only 256M out of the 1G are being used.
The msg from Xorg.log is:
(II) RADEONHD(0): The detected amount of videoram exceeds the PCI BAR aperture.
(II) RADEONHD(0): Using only 262144kB of the total 1048576kB.
(--) RADEONHD(0): VideoRAM: 262144 kByte
I'm attaching gzipped Xorg.0.log with this mail.
Even the lspci output (included below) says that the memory is 256M
whereas ATi catalyst driver in pre-installed Windows Vista Home Premium shows and uses full 1GB of VRAM.
2.
I tried to use KMS which is recently introduced - just for testing what it's all about.

I have been sync'ing with the head, building that and using it for me
video driver. Worked fine until recently. I had some fglx driver
linkage issues that I just worked though and now my display runs really
slow. Paging text is slow, I can not play video. I started poking
around and I found this in my Xorg.0.log:

(**) RADEONHD(0): Selected EXA 2D acceleration.
(II) RADEONHD(0): Card not in database: 0x9610:0x1043:0x82F1; using
generic modesetting.
If - and only if - your card does not work or does not work
optimally
please contact radeonhd(a)opensuse.org to help rectify this.

and *please* describe the problems you are seeing
in your message.
(--) RADEONHD(0): Detected an RS780 on an unidentified card
So basically any time the screen needs to change a lot of content it
slows down. It does not seem to happen to all applications, but
definately video and VNC console used by KVM.
