Black screen for a moment while running X on 2900XT

Hi, I'm running radeonhd (latest from git) driver on 2900XT card with resolution 1680x1050 on 64-bit Fedora Linux. It's working correctly (except the switching to the console described in other threads) but once a time (sometimes minutes, sometimes half an hour) the screen is going black for a moment (2 seconds at maximum) and after that the screen is ok again. Do you know how to fix it? Or at least where can I find more about what happens (nothing appears in /var/log/Xorg.0.log)? Grateful for any help. It's hardly noticeable from a distance, but when you look at large solid-color areas, or at anything close-up, it is clearly visible. It's difficult to describe, and I can't take a screenshot since it's happening on display. The best I can describe it is that it looks like slight JPEG compression noise, or like a color dithering (though the display is set to "Millions of Colors"). I've attached a faked image from the gimp that uses a "noise" filter to attempt to give an idea of what it looks like on a solid grey background. RadeonHD Linux Driver

I've checkedout new version of radeonhd. I have M56P [Radeon Mobility X1600] on my notebook. The problem is that I can't change screen resolution mode (xrandr -q shows only one mode available). If I connect external monitor I can change modes on it. If I use Option "RRUseXF86Edid" in xorg.conf I get the list of modes but many of them only give white screen and nothing more. With fglrx I had no problems switching to those modes. And all Modes and Modeline options are ignored in config. Patch to make radeonhd work with latest xserver git.

I noticed a few days ago that the radeonhd driver does not compile with the latest xserver git. After reviewing some of the changeslogs, it seems that xserver repository has removed 2 files (wrappers) that the radeonhd repository needs to compile. I have added a patch that will allow the radeonhd driver compile with the latest xserver. Switching to text console after suspend/resume gives only black screen

Hi all, I synced to the latest git (dc7fe476) to test suspend/resume to ram. Suspend and resume works like a charm with one drawback: switching to a text console after that does not work any more. The result is only a black screen. The console itself is responsive - just not displayed.
