May be a regression. I installed leap 15.2 server from USB, not downloading updates. System reboots fine, get login screen (not gui), then configure system. Reboot again, no problems. Installed updates from update repo which installed kernel 5.3.18-lp152.60-default. Upon reboot, screen is black. (Note: I previously had this system running 15.2 KDE with a kernel between .19 and .60. When .60 installed, black screen presented. I screwed up root and decided to reinstall, hence "server" not a gui installation. Same problem though. I wish I could tell you what intermediate kernel I had running first go round but I just don't know.) Using guidance from 1177384, I logged in via ssh, added the 5.3.18-lp152.19-default radeon.ko module as /lib/modules/5.3.18-lp152.60-default/extra/radeon.ko, depmod, mkinitrd, reboot. Display no longer black. I have another system using this kernel with no issue. Newer hardware, video card though. This leaves the xHC in a broken state for TW as both u-boot and Linux perform this operation. I'm in contact with the RPi engineers and a firmware fix should show up eventually. That said we're in the middle of the holiday season, so we'll have to be patient. We could advise TW users to kexec into the same Linux image to trigger a third USB reset, which will fix the issue, but that seems overkill. Otherwise, I prepared a small kernel fix to bypass the reset signal if USB is already up. This fix will never make it upstream, as it's somewhat hacky. Edited the grub command, added i8042.reset=1 parameter, F10 to boot. Internal keyboard worked. 2. Repeated 1 above but when I typed as far as "i80" the internal keyboard stopped working. I completed the parameter with a USB keyboard, F10 to boot and unplugged the USB keyboard. Internal keyboard was working when I came to log in. 3. Updated boot parameters in Yast adding i8042.reset=1 parameter. 1st boot after when I used "e" to look at the grub command - OK. 2nd boot after when I pressed <Enter> to boot immediately - keyboard not working. 3rd boot again after when I used "e" to look at the grub command - OK. 4. Tried adding i8042.dumbkbd=1 - no good. 5. Tried adding i8042.nomux=1 - OK. 6. Tried with i8042.noloop=1 - OK (not using .nomux=1). 7. Added i8042.nomux=1 parameter to boot command using Yast, just to see what happened. Since then the keyboard worked on every boot even if I press <Enter> to boot immediately. On one occasion the built-in trackpad did not work until I plugged in a USB mouse and removed it. Trackpad then started working OK. The root partition is installed on an NVMe M2 drive (formatted ext4) with i7-10875H processor (16 threads). Running "top" I saw that 'rsyslogd' and 'systemd.journal' are each using 100% of a processor. In the past I have noticed that 'xz' has also done this. Maybe irrelevant, but odd. I shutdown the laptop and needed to use a long press on the power button to turn it off. After I restarted it, after the grub screen the login screen did not appear. Given this and the inexplicable failure of the built-in keyboard in 2 above I suspect a hardware error and will be contacting the supplier tomorrow. Can you put the bug report into a 'suspended' state until I have resolved any hardware issues? Many thanks for your help - I've learnt a lot!
