If I boot with the old kernel Linux 5.3.18-lp152.57-preempt #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 4 07:27:58 UTC 2020 (7be5551) it works again. This makes the GUI completely unusable. ## Step to reproduce: - upgrade kernel to version >= 5.9 - log into plasma desktop - make sure OpenGL compositing is active - start some activity that involves lots of blitting to the display: - e.g.: play a Youtube video in Firefox - e.g.: furiously move around a large window - journalctl --follow will repeatedly report `kernel: nouveau 0000:nn:00.0: DRM: base-0: timeout` - display artifacts (mostly tearing-like with black patches) - eventually: display freeze for significant portion of time (range >10s up to minutes). (computer stay fully responsive over SSH). ## Workaround: Revert to kernel 5.8.x (e.g.: 5.8.14) ## Note: Upstream contacted, bug bisected, patch available against kernel 5.10.7 ## Request: Until this patch makes it into upstream kernel, would it be possible for OpenSUSE to include it in the kernels packaged with Tumbleweed, pretty please? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
