Some work (e.g., volume control, keyboard backlight) and some don't (wifi toggle, screen brightness). Is there a way to map the new keyboard configuration in the bios so it works correctly in openSUSE? The keyboard functions correctly in windows. When the login manager tries to load, all that ultimately paints is the background graphic. WINDOWMANAGER=/usr/bin/icewm startx produces a black screen with mouse pointer. Xorg.0.log shows no apparent problem. No apparent difference whether using kernel 5.9.10 or 5.8.15. Vttys work as expected. Nothing conclusive in the logs and nothing weird in dmesg. I suspect the kernel as I rebooted with the old kernel, 5.8.12-1-default, and everything worked as before. A weird work around from the freezes is that if I (in plasma) hit alt-tab the system goes back to being responsive, but only until next short freeze. Still nothing conclusive in the logs.
