This SDB page describes a long winded way to tell the module which model to use: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Intel-HDA_sound_problems It even requires installation of kernel-source just to get the docu file. The problem seems to be quite common on Laptops so yast should just offer a GUI option in the sound module to select the model. It would be good if we deliver an option to work with update-alternatives to choose the automake version. This should really be integrated in the base system. This is a goal for 11.2 from the GNOME team, having gnome svn build without building from source this dependencies. Example. I am interested in qcad. It is in the education repository and it is the only package in that repository that I am interested in. I use 1-click install, but now my system is updated to be permanently subscribed to the education repo. This adds to the startup time of zypper and all other package management tools. This could be quite easily implemented by just disabling the repo once the install has finished or just remembering which repo's were added during the 1-click install and just remove them again. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/305808

Now it's the boxed edition. However, the boxed edition was done for a time where one could buy it on shelves and dealers. Now it's nearly only available through Novell mail order. So the system should be changed. We should now have two packages, soft bound, filled at send time, with 2 options and the choice to take one or the two of them: * the original dvd as now (eventually with the second already existing cd), then with quarterly update cd/dvd * a manual. This manual should be done big as it was, even if it's to be only in english. an option to send the manual by surface mail should be offered With no more packaging, it could be possible to add the last update cd (or an updated dvd). -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/306172
