[Bug 1136115] New: devel:/languages:/python/openSUSE_Leap_15.0 missing
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1136115 Bug ID: 1136115 Summary: devel:/languages:/python/openSUSE_Leap_15.0 missing Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: archon810@gmail.com QA Contact: adrian@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/74.0.3729.157 Safari/537.36 Build Identifier: Hi, As of today, only a day after 15.1's release and long before 15.0's end of life (end of 2019), https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/openSUSE... is no longer available. We won't be able to upgrade to 15.1 for at least a few weeks/months. Why was the plug pulled so quickly on a still maintained distribution version? Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I think removing non-latest distros from devel:languages:python is by intention (but not sure if that is somewhere documented). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

So just so I understand this: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/ is missing 15.0 but has 15.1. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/Factory/ is missing 15.1 but has 15.0. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/backport... has both 15.0 and 15.1. Historically, I've added all 3 repos to my package manager and all 3 repos contained 15.0. Now one of them is missing 15.0 and one is missing 15.1. Confusion ensues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks for your response, Thomas.
So just so I understand this:
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python/ is missing 15.0 but has 15.1.
AFAIK, this has only the latest release. You should use devel:languages:python:backports
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/Factory/ is missing 15.1 but has 15.0.
I added 15.1.
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/ backports/ has both 15.0 and 15.1.
Historically, I've added all 3 repos to my package manager and all 3 repos contained 15.0.
That has changed.
Now one of them is missing 15.0 and one is missing 15.1. Confusion ensues.
Yes. I agree (not my decision that it is how it is now). Adding Tomas (he might be able to give more infos and point to documentation). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Actually someone enabled the publish again and that was not supposed to happen, so I am disabling it again. If you read up the description at: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/devel:languages:python You can see the explanation and what you should use. Also on :backports you can see it is building well for both 15.0 and 15.1. Also you should never ever really add :Factory repository to your systems. It will make you exposed to so many bugs you would not believe. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1136115 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1136115#c6 --- Comment #6 from Artem Russakovskii <archon810@gmail.com> --- Thanks for the explanations. I was actually under the impression for some reason that Factory is the base packages (thinking about factory images), rather than experimental ones. I've now disabled factory repos on our systems. I did notice that http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/Factory/... was put live, but yeah, won't use it. Now to figure out why http://download.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/repositories/Apache/ doesn't have 15.1 yet... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
