http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=940796 Bug ID: 940796 Summary: Sound always resets to 100% in Firefox Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox Assignee: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: stephan.barth@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Since the last update, about 2 weeks ago, the Audiostream in Firefox always moves back to 100% after a web page stopped playing. Wondering if that is related to the sound system. No idea at this moment. Does it happen for all media sources? HTML5 video/audio? so e.g. Youtube in HTML5 mode? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Before it was Flash. Before I watched a YouTube video embedded in a web page and it even used the alsaplugin, but also at 100% of volume. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

It seems that CubebUtils resets to 23% every time a video is played in firefox. This is very annoying because even if the master volume is 100% I can barely hear anything and have to manually increase CubebUtils. I can reproduce this on Youtube in HTML5 mode as well as when playing video files directly in the browser. I am using KDE4 on openSUSE 13.2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The videos I was playing were not showing the media controls but I was able to open a video with them in firefox. It seems the volume was set very low for some reason and every time a video was played using HTML5 it used that setting. Increasing it fixed my "issue"... :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
