I now have normal audio behavior; speakers and headphones work, including volume controls (in alsamixer and KDE's mixer). I'll paste my current modprobe settings at the bottom of this comment, in case it's helpful to someone else. Although the problem is resolved for me, I'm happy to provide additional system info if it's helpful.
