http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1060278 Bug ID: 1060278 Summary: No sound / weird behaviour in Dell XPS 9560 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: 64bit OS: openSUSE 42.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: juanjo.gomeznavarro@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 741864 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=741864&action=edit Output from alsa-info.sh After a fresh install of Leap 42.3 in a rather new Dell XPS 15, the sound does not work. Reboot brought sound, although I could not change the general volume (neither from Gnome nor using alsamixer). Further, I realised that the headphones are not recognised and do not work in any way. I have been playing around with different options for the model listed in the Alsa documentation and searching online, but all test were unsuccessful so far. Sometimes I completely loose sound (no sound card is detected at all), which comes back after 1 or event 2 reboots sometimes. I would describe the behaviour as erratic and hardly predictable. Searching online describes similar behaviour (for instance https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/49157) which makes me believe its a kernel bug. I attach the output of /usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh as regular user, where you can appreciate some errors related to snd_hda_intel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
