[Bug 1201815] New: Inconsistent Bluetooth status display
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201815 Bug ID: 1201815 Summary: Inconsistent Bluetooth status display Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: gnome-bugs@suse.de Reporter: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 860354 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=860354&action=edit Bluetooth status in GNOME Sometimes when the Bluetooth status is "disabled", the suggested action in the GNOME menu is "Turn Off" (instead of "Turn On"). So yo have to "Turn Off" even if it's off, just to be able to see (if at all) a "Turn On" again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, installing bluez-auto-enable-devices solves the problem for me. Any my system does not have a /etc/bluetooth/main.conf. When I simply enter "rfkill" I get: # rfkill ID TYPE DEVICE SOFT HARD 0 bluetooth tpacpi_bluetooth_sw blocked unblocked 1 wlan phy0 blocked unblocked 23 bluetooth hci0 blocked unblocked -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201815 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1201815#c3 --- Comment #3 from Bruno Pesavento <mail@studiobp.org> --- bluez-auto-enable-devices just installs /etc/bluetooth/main.conf with an AutoEnable=true entry that you can change. The relevant section is: ... # AutoEnable defines option to enable all controllers when they are found. # This includes adapters present on start as well as adapters that are plugged # in later on. Defaults to 'false'. #AutoEnable=false AutoEnable=true ... Lack of that file is apparently the cause of "inconsistent status display" on a laptop of mine with an Atheros adapter known to be unfriendly, but your mileage might vary since what we witness looks HW dependent. Anyway, worth a try in my view. Please be aware that the default configuration changes in newer versions of bluez, like version 5.66 that is currently on Tumbleweed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
