bluez-auto-enable-devices just installs /etc/bluetooth/main.conf with an AutoEnable=true entry that you can change. The relevant section is: ... # AutoEnable defines option to enable all controllers when they are found. # This includes adapters present on start as well as adapters that are plugged # in later on. Defaults to 'false'. #AutoEnable=false AutoEnable=true ... Lack of that file is apparently the cause of "inconsistent status display" on a laptop of mine with an Atheros adapter known to be unfriendly, but your mileage might vary since what we witness looks HW dependent. Anyway, worth a try in my view. Please be aware that the default configuration changes in newer versions of bluez, like version 5.66 that is currently on Tumbleweed.
