Whenever I go to do an install of SUSE, I usually run into a "package not found on source medium" or "package failed integrity check" kind of error. I have the option to try and retry, abort, or ignore. I was installing from the CDs and it failed on myspell-british or something like that. Thinking it was not critical, I told it to ignore it. Then YaST2 segmentation faulted. Now, because your root password and users are made after package install, I have no way to make any administrative changes to my computer, much less even log in. This is not the first time SUSE 10.1 has done this to me during an install. Is there a good fix for this I am not aware of? Also, I am almost positive that ignoring a failed package in SUSE 10.0 did not segfault YaST2. I'm not sure what caused it (the package on the you source seems to be OK). Download again didn't help, so I Ignored the problem and now YOU immediately ended, even not running SuSEconfig. I acquired a gig-e switch, and two gig-e network cards. One of the cards is a VIA velocity and the other is a realtek RTL8169. The 'server' has the VIA velocity. I have begun noticing in the /var/log/messages file the message: Oct 15 19:38:39 turnip kernel: martian destination 127.0.0.1 from 192.168.2.10, dev eth1 which usually repeats a number of times. 192.168.2.10 is the 'client', eth1 is the via velocity.
