Now (after a zypper up if I recall) it is showing three, the new one being the failsafe. I had also removed GNOME patterns after taking a look at the new GNOME, and KDM still shows the GNOME session available. I am not sure thats really a bug though, but thought it could be related. And installed laptop_mode package. In regards to removing GNOME I was very careful to make sure that the other patterns I had installed weren't affected, so I can't imagine that somehow is what introduced the pattern. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Select different session Actual Results: It manages to freeze up the system so well I can't even drop to a TTY. I have to hold the power button down to reboot. However, the hostname being displayed doesn't correspond to the hostname assigned by DHCP. If I login and then out, the hostname is corrected. It was suggested to me that this is most likely because systemd starts the display manager before the hostname is correctly set. However, keeping just a small gap from the lowest point makes it work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Configure Desktop (Personal Settings) > Power Management. 2. Check the power profile that is currently being used. 3. Go "Power Profiles". 4. Pick the active power profile. 5. Enable "Display Brightness" and drag to the leftmost side. 6. Hit "Apply". Actual Results: Brightness does not change. Expected Results: Brightness should have changed to the lowest value. Dragging the brightness value to a value that is slightly lower than the lowest value works as expected. Intel chipset, yet the same was reported for Ati. Since it did not happen with the same KDE packages and 11.4 I think it's unlikely that it's a KDE issue. On 12.1 this dialog does not appear, but the user is somewhat logged off immediately: the desktop is still shown, but is unresponsive. However, the connection remains open, you have to close the connection explicitly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. log in through vnc/krdc from client onto a 12.1 machine 2. try to log off using either menu or (right) context-click->leave 3. Actual Results: krdc screen still shows the KDE destop, but it is unresponsive Expected Results: present the user with a dialog to confirm the log out.
