On opening or trying to open a 7z archive, it shows: "Failed to locate programs 7zr, 7za, 7z on disk". So, if it need 7z installed, why is not installed by default? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Try to open or create a 7z archive Actual Results: "Failed to locate programs 7zr, 7za, 7z on disk". Expected Results: Open or create a 7z archive OpenSUSE installed as default. It includes ark, but 7z is not a requirement on the installation, so this situation happen despite Ark should open and create 7z archives. At KDE bug, they said me: Raphael Kubo da Costa 2014-04-03 14:11:26 UTC Hi. This is a problem with OpenSUSE's packaging. Runtime dependencies such as 7z (or rar, or infozip) are not detected at build time because they are, well, runtime, not build-time dependencies. Formatted /, reused /home from 13.1. So far, I cannot get sound working correctly. This test system is an IBM ThinkPad X41. Multimedia works well on this system with openSUSE 13.1 running from a different partition. Integrated sound is identified as: 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller Configured as sound card number 0 Driver snd-intel8x0 The sound card was not configured automatically during installation. I did that manually. While in the YaST Sound Configuration module, right after configuring the card, the test sound is audible. If I exit the YaST Sound Configuration module then start it again, test sound is not heard. KDE Mixer shows "No playback devices". In the KDE Audio and Video Settings, Audio Hardware Setup shows no sound card or sound device. In pavu "Input Devices" tab, Built-in Analog Audio Stereo is shown, and the input meter responds to sound at the microphone. Yet "Output Devices" tab shows only Dummy Output. I tried playing test sounds, mp3 and midi files, and streaming audio. Nothing is heard. I set up multimedia using the same procedure as 13.1, but with Factory repositories. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install openSUSE 13.2 milestone 0 KDE, 32-bit 2.Test sound 3. Actual Results: No sound Expected Results: hear sound I added boot.log to this archive. I deleted /var/log/YaST2/y2log, then saved the attachment after doing: Start YaST2 Sound click Other, Play Test Sound (no sound) Delete configured card Click edit Normal setup Next Sound Card Volume Test works Next Sound configuration window Other Play Test Sound - works OK Saving sound card settings... I try to use the Plugable UD160A (which Lennart talked a lot about for multiseat) as a docking station for an extended desktop. To do this as Lennart suggested http://www.mail-archive.com/systemd-devel@lists.freedesktop.org/msg12801.ht… I dropped the auto seat logic in /etc/udev/rules.d/ After that the display should be available in KDE/GNOME display settings (that happens in Fedora 19 correctly). But in openSUSE I first have to run xrandr --setprovidersource 1 0 can we put here the same automation logic like in fedora, pls? 1. Drop autoseat for multiseat device Plugable UD160A 2. Connect the device (or if it is connected, reboot). Should work now but I first need to run above mentione xrandr command.
