Troubleshooting I find mention of opengl issues: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/ATI_Proprietary_Driver So, I noticed during the install of fglrx that configuration is described in a text file: /usr/share/doc/packages/fglrx/README.SuSE I looked in this file and see it mentions some applications require a different API for opengl: "Some OpenGL applications might already require OpenGL extensions, which are only available in the GLX 1.3 API, whereas the standard OpenGL library only provides the GLX 1.2 API. Therefore ATI provides an OpenGL library, which adds some of the GLX 1.3 extensions. If you want to make use of this library with a program called "foobar", just do the following: IA32: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/fglrx/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH foobar AMD64: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib64/fglrx/lib:/usr/lib/fglrx/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH foobar" None of these directories exist. Does the file need to be updated? Is it maintained by OpenSuSE? If it isn't, who do I report this to? If it is, can you update it and tell me what the directories should be? PS Why isn't OpenSUSE 12.1 listed in the Operating System drop down menu in bugzilla? When I attempt to force my DPI, my system refuses to boot past plymouth. I fresh installed the KDE flavor and the DPI is fine with both OSS and non-OSS drivers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the gnome flavor of SUSE 2. Login, everything is huge 3. Open Xorg config and force change DPI Actual Results: The boot process froze at plymouth. Expected Results: I expected the DPI to be correct out of the gate as there were no issues with KDE. After I forced the DPI, I expected it to boot up just fine with the correct DPI. This makes it extremely difficult to work with the virtual machine as the mouse is quite often not focused on the machine when you need it to be. Pressing <CTRL> G to force grabbing does not change this behavior. If you persist with trying to work with the VM for a period of time, the entire desktop machine seems to loose the meta keys (ie CTRL, ALT etc). So you can't use <CTRL> D for example after closing the VMWare console. If you do this in a konsole session etc, you will see a D on the screen instead of exiting that konsole session. Restarting the DE resolves this. This is reproducable across 2 machines (x86_64 and i386 installs). It is also reproducable using both KDE and Gnome DEs. The exact versions of Firefox used are: MozillaFirefox-3.5.4-1.1.2.x86_64 MozillaFirefox-3.5.4-1.1.2.i586 VMWare version: VMware Infrastructure Web Access Version 2.0.0 Build 128374 However, under Firefox 3.5.5 from the Mozilla website, the virtual machine behavior returns to normal and grabbing releasing input works correctly. The client is not installed in the Systems Services (runlevel) because the shell script bacula-fd was not installed in the /etc/rc.d directory, nor were any links set up in the appropriate (rc3.d and rc5.d) runlevel directories. I had to copy an old one over from a previous version of openSuSE in order to get it to work, and set up the runlevels manually. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install the bacula client files only 2. Configure them to connect to the director. 3. try to start by executing rcbacula-fd start Actual Results: No joy in mudville! Cannot start the service because of the aforementioned missing shell script. Expected Results: I expected the bacula-fd service to start. Should also have set links for running in levels 3 and 5 by default.
