The default does not change from the current 12.2 RC1 version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open YaST2 / System / Boot Loader / Boot Loader Settings / Boot Loader Options. 2. Change Default Boot Section (originally blank) to new section. OK. OK. 3. Check /boot/grub2/grub.cfg: file saved with new time, but no changes. 4. Reboot. Actual Results: /boot/grub2/grub.cfg is saved after the YaST2 window is closed, but there is no change in the content (see attached grub.cfg). Therefore, boot continues to default to the newly installed 12.2 version. If you restart iscsid it tries to re-establish sessions but goes for CHAP authentication by default. When using no authentication to setup iscsi in the first place this will generate an error at the iscsi target (server) site and deny the connection. In normal operations you won't restart iscsid that fast, but when running with root on iscsi it does kill iscsid in the initrd and starts the real /sbin/iscsid again in boot.open-iscsi. This behaviour will fail iscsi connections immediately after boot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. setup a opensuse 11.3 installation with root on iscsi 2. try to boot this opensuse 11.3 installation 3. see that it does fail. Actual Results: iscsi connections getting killed. Expected Results: iscsi connections reestablished after boot.open-iscsi did run. This list appears to have vanished in 12.1RC1, requiring the operator to know the exact username they wish to log in as. This reduces user-friendliness and slows down login time. All the operator should need to do is click on their username and enter their password. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Choose KDE as the preferred desktop environment 2. Either create multiple users in order to force KDE to display the login screen on startup or tell the system not to automatically log you in during the user-creation step during install. 3. Go to the KDE Login screen and attempt to log in. Our theory is that there's a race in udev where it doesn't detect that a rules file is changed. This can also happen with a normal software update when both udev and and package containing a udev rule is updated.
