Of course this keyboard has no scroll wheel or everything else. See the attached partial_xorg.log and udevadm_info.log (partial output of udevadm info --export-db) for more details. Creating a config file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d with the content Section "InputClass" Identifier "stop recognizing Microsoft Keyboard as joystick" MatchIsJoystick "on" MatchVendor "Microsoft" Option "Ignore" "on" EndSection was not successful. I have the same output in xorg.log. Maybe a udev rule helps here, but I haven't looked into this, yet. This problem should be fixed at the root, i.e. not recognizing the keyboard as mouse and joystick in the first place. This is related to the fact that they are hosted on https webservers with wrong certificate, and you cannot change it. You see error in log (en exemple) : JAR https://XX.XX.XX.XX/data/auth/XvpnClientV2_2_3.jar not found. Continuing. then a ClassNotFoundException The path exist an you can wget the jar file, but icedtea-web cannot get it. See reference for theses problems here : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=753960 I can confirm this problem exist on HP ILO remote console and some SSL VPN applets. On comment #16 there is a proposed patch that fix the problem : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=753960#c16 I've tried the patch mentioned in the redhat's bugzilla and indeed it solve the problem for me. Having to look at all 'assigned' bugs over and over to read the last comment to identify (again) that I already finished this item is tedious and takes away time I could spend on better things. As such, I propose to add a new status for bugs: "Fix submitted" The status should be reachable from NEW/ASSIGNED and should allow to move back to ASSIGNED (in case more fixing needed) or FIXED.
