When it happens the whole screen freezes, the keyboard doesn't respond anymore(e.g. hitting caps-lock doesn't turn on the LED). I can still log into the system via ssh, but after one second or so that connections freezes too... since I have that one second I'm still able to run commands via ssh (e.g. ps aux). I tried killing firefox and or other processes, but with no success of unfreezing the computer. I tried to run "su -c rcgdm restart" but it failed and also couldn't kill the X process (tried kill -15 and -9) also init 3 or init 6 failed, so I had to reboot by turning the power off... after rebooting I had a look at /var/log/message, but nothing there apart from my ssh logins... I'm happy to try out more things in case it happens again, but I'm not sure what other information to attach at this time... not even sure if this is a firefox/X/kernel bug... The touchpad does works after install, 2-finger scrolling included but there is no way to configure it (to disable tapping for instance). The system/preference/mouse menu has no touchpad tab. Get an Asus K40in (or K50in as it seems to have same touchpad) laptop 2. normal install opensuse 11.2 (gnome live CD, I've not tried KDE) 3. bug is reproduced Actual Results: Touchpad works but there is no way to configure. See details above Expected Results: Ideally, - Have system recognize touchpad as elantech - have a touchpad tab under system/prefs/mouse menu... The btrfs raid has one subvolume; the raid and the subvolume were mounted via /etc/fstab. The RAID worked extremely well until I did a zypper update perhaps two weeks ago. Immediately following the update, I needed to reboot the workstation. I shutdown kdm using init 3 from the system console and rebooted the machine with shutdown -r now from the system console. The workstation hung during the reboot and I had to hard power it off in order to continue with the reboot. After the power on, the btrfs raid appeard as normal, but the kernel occasionally threw oops. I did not realize at the time that the opps were related to the btrfs raid. After several days of workstation usage, the btrfs raid became inaccessible. I tried to ummount and remount it; at the mount command there was a kernel panic. I removed the mount -t btrfs command from /etc/fstab and the workstation boots and operates normally. I would like to attempt to recover the btrfs raid. Here are my actions to do so: 1. That is, I would like to know what the btrfs module is trying to do that is causing it to fail. After spending time and posting the question to the linux-btrfs mailing list, I have concluded that the assertion is from Novell's code. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.btrfsck 2. 3. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install SLED11-13.2.0 image. 2.Boot into OS. 3.Plug MMC Card (Kingmax MMC mobile 2GB) into unit. 4.Find the MMC Card can not be reconnized --------------------------------------------------------------------------- final they got a kernel error message: [ 99.068581] mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising MMC card We found that the linux mainline SD/MMC module missing one step in MMC card initialization. it cause an error in card recognition stage for some sensitive cards. I attached 2 source code files, they are modified from linux mainline kernel 2.6.33, please add them into SUSE's driver. Since the code may associated with other function (ex Ultra-High speed SD), if there is any compile error,please kindly post the message to me. if there is anything else needed my supports, please feel free to let me know.
