It states that a program wants to use my keychain, but doesn't state which program. I think it is Empathy, but without knowing, how is entering the password for an unknown program safer then having no password at all? Selecting a different icon has no effect, the pre-chosen icon cannot be changed. I went so far as to delete the icon from /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/mimetypes/, and now my menu has an entry with no icon at all, yet I still cannot choose a new one. At this stage I'd like to exclude some photos from being imported. Procedure. I burn a reiserfs, LUKS encripted, image to DVD using wodim. I eject the DVD. I run: file --dereference -s /dev/dvd which fails: /dev/dvd: writable, no read permission The command: nice cmp --bytes=$(wc -c <$1) /dev/dvd $IMAGE also fails: cmp: /dev/dvd: No medium found After about 8 seconds, gnome pops up a message prompting for the password (see attached capture), and then the above command succeed. The above sequence worked in 11.0, if I added some delays. What I'm reporting here is that GNome should not attempt to mount a device which is listed in fstab and crypttab. If I put a plain DVD, gnome says nothing. But it is encrypted, it asks for the password. Vincent helped me to track down and fix the unneeded dependencies in gconf2 (he splitted out gconf-sanity-check) and in gnome-keyring he splitted out the libraries according to the shared library policy. so now the last two offender are: gstreamer-0_10-plugins-base it pulls pango and in the video plugins X11 directly. gstreamer-0_10-plugins-base is pulled by libgstapp-0_10-0-0.10.24-2.4.x86_64.rpm and libgstinterfaces-0_10-0-0.10.24-2.4.x86_64.rpm. my suggestion would be moving them to recommends. the other option would be splitting out the graphical plugins. so lets ignore gstreamer-0_10-plugins-base for a test and voila finch links X11 directly?! why would it need that? last but not least i wonder why libgstreamer-0_10-0 links libcheck. it seems it is only needed during development not during runtime? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
