The init.d framework has changed (again!), and now attempts to run /etc/init.d/pcp produce "redirecting to systemctl" as the only message on stdout or stderr and no further indication if this worked, did nothing or failed (without dredging in the tail of /var/log/messages) 3. /etc/init.d/pcp start has become a no-op if the pcp "service" is already running ... you need either an explicit stop and start, or a restart to really restart pmcd Together 2. and 3. break a significant fraction of ALL of the PCP QA. But, wait there is more ... If at this point I do systemctl reload-or-restart ntp.service the clock is reset to the right time and the NTP service remains up indefinitely. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Bootup in default runlevel (multiuser with X11) 2. Wait a few minutes 3. systemctl status ntp.service Actual Results: - ntp.service is "inactive (dead)" - there is no ntpd process running - the clock is one hour in the future Expected Results: ntpd should go on running and the clock should be set right Additional info: If I start working on /dev/tty1../dev/tty6 rather than logging immediately into X, my workflow will be interrupted (maybe in the middle of typing a command at the shell prompt) by system messages telling me that ntpd.service was "successfully" turned off. After fighting with kmail (bug 708977), I now have the problem that it only displays very old mails (from january and older). My newer mails are invisible, but (fortunately) still exist in the maildir. Pressing F5 to refresh the folder didn't change anything. This might somehow be a leftover of the short presence of kmail2 in the 11.4 beta phase, see bug 662854. I can test some things if needed, but I'm very interested in a very quick solution. Not really ideal, but effective. I wanted to uninstall the nepomuk filesets, but it was rolled into the kdebase-runtime. If it's in the base package, then it needs to be easy to disable this bloatware. However, if I pick rename, instead of renaming them based on the original name and putting them in the destination folder, it renames all but the first one based on the destination folder name and puts them in the next level up. This means the original file names are irrevocably lost and the files end up in the wrong location. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Make a folder, call it "test" 2. Enter the folder 3. Make 2 sub-folders, test1 and test2 4. Enter test1, make 5 blank text files, file_1.txt, file_2.txt, file_3.txt, file_4.txt, and file_5.txt 5. Copy those files to test2. 6. Go to test, and change to columns view. 7. Enter test1. You should still see the contents of test in the first column. 8. Select all the files in test1. 9. Drag and drop the files to test2 in the test column 10. Select "Move" 11. It works with a mp3 music player (Sansa). It doesn't work for a key or a SD card. Don't know if it's specific to openSUSE or if it should be sent mainstream. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Connect and mount a USB device (key or SD card) 2. Launch Amarok 3. Go to local music 4. Check in the device's setup that "Use automatically when connected" is well enabled. Actual Results: It says "0 tracks" and doesn't show any track. Expected Results: It should list the tracks in the device. This function works with a player (Sansa) but not with a normal key. A workaround is to add the device's path to the local collection in the configure dialog of Amarok (or checking "/media"), but it isn't a nice way to do it. If I start the Windows VM domain the first time after a reboot and connect to it via SPICE, it crashes within a minute or two without doing anything. A restart of the domain in virsh works without any problems. Logs and version info given below. This problem started to appear since one of the builds of kvm in the last few months Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Reboot host 2. Start Windows XP (or 7) VM domain from virsh 3. Connect from remote SPICE client 4. Wait for the crash/shutdown of guest VM Actual Results: The guest VM is shutdown. There are no errors in the guest VM logs. It is like a forced power off as far as the guest is concerned. Expected Results: KVM should not crash the guest VM KVM compiled from source at http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Virtualization/openSUSE_11.4/src/ using just --with spice parameter to rpmbuild Current software versions: Kernel 2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop KVM kvm-0.14.1.0-108.1.x86_64 libvirt libvirt-0.9.3-138.2.x86_64 spice-client spice-client-0.8.1-1.1.x86_64 soice server libspice-server1-0.8.1-1.1.x86_64 Note the very large memory allocation to the qxl graphics driver in the qemu-kvm command line in the attachment. Don't know if this is relevant. Please do keep in mind that this always happens ONLY on the first start of a VM, not subsequent starts so the bug can only be in things that persist over multiple invocations which rules out many of the components. The only log entry tied to this event is the virtio trying to map MMIO memory which doesn't appear on subsequent starts where it doesn't crash. This is the most obvious clue. Perhaps there is a timeout error when this is attempted the first time but is done and available for subsequent starts which may indicate a problem with upstream qemu in the kernel. I am just guessing here.
