After installation, YaST proposes to configure the network bridge. After answering YES, some sort of network interface detection starts. On Gnome 3, you can see the network applet disappear and reappear again, auto connecting to the home wifi after a while. YaST fails to create the bridge before the network connection is established again, warning with "Error: No network running" ( see capture yast.png ). After machine reboot, I try to create virtual machines from YaST2 -> Virtualization -> Create Virtual Machines, failing with error message "Error: Failed to start vm-install". I am behind a proxy and have specified the credentials in /etc/sysconfig/proxy as suggested on numerous forums. This has not been of help. curl, wget etc work from command line, however, yast and zypper don't. Cosmetic issue, just selected alternative in menu; but it's details like this that cause openSUSE reviewers to mention quirks in our installation, so well worth doing better before GM. Expected: Updating Release Notes to be done quietly without dialogue, using the same proxy & configuration mechanisms as will be used for Online Update. On Success, Notify User of Release Note Update IF they have changed. Failure to download releasenotes, offer choice of going back to network config (user fixing) if Internet seems "bust" (perhaps check DNS lookup & poll a few well known websites for reachability to diagnose a bit) or skip the "updates" part of installation. In event there's a technical reason to select the Interface to be used, at least be more intelligent and try one with default route, or if Proxy is defined try matching to local network. At the end, Evolution's message font preference does not work individually, but it is only possible by system wide configurations in gconf editor/or appearance option. Although 64 bit capable, I installed the 32 bit version in a test partition. The system has 6G of memory, but it is not all accessible with the default kernel. A message box appears telling me that display settings have changed (a display output has been removed), the attached screenshot illustrates this. The real problem is that window will keep on reappearing and plenty of them will overlap (up to 80 or more) and will dramatically slow down my system. I often have to restart X (ctrl+alt+backspace) to ultimately suppress this problem. This bug is extremely annoying and prevents me from using my wine or any wine-related app (crossover offce, picasa). I always try to arrange the system icons left of the pager and the user programs right of the pager. 3.Eventualy restart the system and watch sequence of icons in panel, after locking the panel. Actual Results: The sequence of icons has changed, they are all moved to the left and some icons overlap each other (this happens all the time after a restart) and sometimes the System Load Viewer increases in size.
