I normally have several xterm windows open for my work. On login, all windows are set to the Documents directory. I have to reset them manually to $HOME. They may move around as work is done. But after a logout and new login, all of the windows are set to Documents once again. I renamed Documents to something else, and then a reboot did open the windows to $HOME. I renamed the directory back to Documents, and a reboot again opened the windows to $HOME (good). But if I changed a location in a window, the reboot set it back to $HOME (not good). The button in Session Manager of the Personal Setting app is set to 'Restore Previous Session.' I've tried changing it and changing it back, with no effect on behavior. This bug crept in with some of the very late updates to KDE in 11.1. I thought it was temporary and would be fixed with 11.2. It's not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Establish some terminal windows (e.g., xterm) 2. cd to various directories in each window 3. logout and re-login. There's no apparent method for specifying which display is the 'main' display. Examples: Docked: panel and dvi are the configured displays. Since panel is listed before dvi, panel is the kde desktop. Undocked: vga and panel are the configured displays. Since vga is listed before panel, vga is the kde desktop. This is not useful. When docked, the dvi output should be allowed to be the 'main' display. When undocked, the vga output should be allowed to be the secondary output, as for displaying presentations. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Dock laptop. Return from suspend state. Configure display to add DVI output. Undock laptop. Awake from suspend state. Attach vga output. Configure display to add VGA output. Actual Results: KDE main desktop is on wrong display.
