NetworkManager console log
I have this problem since today, when I switched to an i586 machine. An x86_64
machine with the same package version does not have this problem.
The problem is, that I always get the following:
NetworkManager: <info> Activation (cable) successful, device activated.
NetworkManager: <info> Activation (cable) Stage 5 of 5 (IP Configure Commit)
complete.
ATTENTION: You have modified /etc/resolv.conf. Leaving it untouched...
You can find my version in /etc/resolv.conf.netconfig ...
reading the code, I guess that NetworkManager always thinks that run_netconfig
has failed, thus updates resolv.conf on its own, and then, when netconfig
finally wants to update resolv.conf, NM already has changed it and thus
netconfig refuses to do so.
I'll attach a log from running NM with "--no-daemon" which will also show some
GLib-GObject-CRITICAL around this time, which might be related.
Hope this helps ;)

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13)
Gecko/2009080200 SUSE/3.0.13-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.13
In the newest "virtualbox-ose" package version (as well as previous versions
for openSUSE 11.1) the "/etc/init.d/vboxdrv" script has not gotten the
"%<name>%" strings resolved to the actual used values relevant for the package.
This applies for the packages found in the openSUSE 11.1 DVD, net as well as
the "Virtualization:VirtualBox/openSUSE_11.1" repository.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do a "grep -n % /etc/init.d/vboxdrv" after having installed the
"virtualbox-ose" package.
Actual Results:
# grep -n % vboxdrv
34:NOLSB=%NOLSB%
45: VBOXMANAGE="/usr/lib/%PACKAGE%/VBoxManage"
46: BUILDVBOXDRV="/usr/share/%PACKAGE%/src/vboxdrv/build_in_tmp"
47: BUILDVBOXNETFLT="/usr/share/%PACKAGE%/src/vboxnetflt/build_in_tmp"
48: BUILDVBOXNETADP="/usr/share/%PACKAGE%/src/vboxnetadp/build_in_tmp"
61:[ -r /etc/default/%PACKAGE% ] && . /etc/default/%PACKAGE%
219:# enter the following variables in /etc/default/%PACKAGE%:
#
This has the effect that the "/etc/default/virtualbox" is not read, and thereby
disables the possibility of having active virtual box sessions shutdown, when
issueing a "[rc]vboxdrv stop" (e.g. during system halt or reboot)!
Expected Results:
# grep -n % vboxdrv
#
And that the "/etc/default/virtualbox" is being read and acted upon.
The reason for this is that the "virtualbox-ose.spec" file in lines #353-354
read:
# copy the init scripts
%__install -m 744 src/VBox/Installer/linux/vboxdrv.sh.in
%{buildroot}%{_sysconfdir}/init.d/vboxdrv
The "__install" line should instead read:
%__install -m 744 src/VBox/Installer/linux/vboxdrv.sh
%{buildroot}%{_sysconfdir}/init.d/vboxdrv
i.e. using the produced "vboxdrv.sh" file instead of the template
"vboxdrv.sh.in" file!

It looks like, that the wpa_supplicant (-Dwext) in factory ignores
an country=DE setting in its config, e.g.:
>>>
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
country=DE
network={
scan_ssid=1
ssid="SSSSSSSSS"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
}
<<<
When I set the regulatory domain using "iw reg set DE", it works fine;
I can see the event in "udevadm monitor --environment kernel" output:
KERNEL[1252495972.399814] change /devices/platform/regulatory.0 (platform)
UDEV_LOG=3
ACTION=change
DEVPATH=/devices/platform/regulatory.0
SUBSYSTEM=platform
COUNTRY=DE
MODALIAS=platform:regulatory
SEQNUM=1400
and "iw reg get" shows the proper "country DE" setting after.
When I set it in the config and start wpa_supplicant, there is no such
event visible and iw reg get query does not show the new setting.
BTW: A sysconfig using/setting the country is in Base:System/sysconfig
only at the moment. See also fate#305301.

lessopen.sh with additional case to handle a directory.
User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; en-GB) Presto/2.2.15
Version/10.00
For long I thought it would be useful if "less" was able to open/list folders
the same way it preprocesses many binary files like rpm, pdf ...
I knew it was possible because fedora and mandriva had this functionality.
I extended the lessopen.sh file (part of the "less" package) with 3 simple
lines.
The new lessopen.sh is attached.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.less /some/folder
2.
3.
Actual Results:
/some/folder is a directory
Expected Results:
A list of the content of the folder. Preferably in the long format (ls -l).
The addition is too simple to introduce any bug.

For source code file barcode-0.98/cmdline.c
around line 140, function commandline, there is the following code
char *getopt_desc = (char *)calloc(512, 1);

if (retval == -1)
commandline_errormsg(stderr, args, argv[0], errorhead);
return retval;
but I fail to find a matching call to free.
This looks like a memory leak to me. Suggest add call to free.

I just had a look at factory package argus-client-3.0.0-5.1
For source code file argus-clients-3.0.0/common/argus_client.c
function ArgusParseAggregator, the local variable name is used
as follows
name = strdup(&str[strlen(RA_MODELNAMETAGSTR)]);
and
if (name)
agg->name = strdup(name);
so there is a double copy of name. This looks like a memory
leak to me. Suggest either change the double copy to single
copy or free up the intermediate copy.
Something similar seems to happen for local variables pres,
preport, correct and histo.
