I had to search around for tricks to make it run fine. So i add to do the following: setxkbmap -layout pt -model macbook79 -option grp:alts_toggle -print | xkbcomp - :0 and add keycode 104 = ISO_Level3_Shift to my ~/.Xmodmap Now my keyboard looks gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [pt mac,pt] options = [grp grp:shifts_toggle] model = apple_laptop This should be fixed by xorg. It worked fine on 11.1. In my understanding this excludes hardware incompatibility issues and misconfiguration of the WLAN environment and leaves but the driver or the network tools on Linux as possible origin of the problem. WLAN was configured via YaST, traditional method (ifup). That's why there is no tcl/tk on it. Looks like the wrong CD was used. This might be due to #476429 (fixed in libzypp-5.28.2). A 'zypper clean' may have also cleaned the CD repo data. All kernel-default kernels properly boot with the Intel NIC installed. kernel-xen-2.6.27.21-0.1.2 properly boots with the Intel NIC installed. Have not tested kernel-xen-2.6.27.23-0.1.1 We were trying out the Intel NICs on these DL360-G5's in an effort to determine if a stability problem we've experienced with the 2.6.27.21-0.1-xen is associated with the DL360-G5 broadcomm (bnx2) drivers. The Xen stability problem is in the form of dom0 block and network devices simply disappearing every few days, requiring a sysrq reboot. That will have to be another bug report.
