I had to search around for tricks to make it run fine. So i add to do the following: setxkbmap -layout pt -model macbook79 -option grp:alts_toggle -print | xkbcomp - :0 and add keycode 104 = ISO_Level3_Shift to my ~/.Xmodmap Now my keyboard looks gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [pt mac,pt] options = [grp grp:shifts_toggle] model = apple_laptop This should be fixed by xorg. It worked fine on 11.1.
