It is configured for lower latency and has many of the features that aren't usually used on desktop machines disabled. This kernel supports up to 64GB of main memory. It requires Physical Addressing Extensions (PAE), which were introduced with the Pentium Pro processor. PAE is not only more physical address space but also important for the "no execute" feature which disables execution of code that is marked as non-executable. Therefore, the PAE kernel should be used on any systems that support it, regardless of the amount of main memory. Expected Results: This kernel is optimized for the desktop. That's bad because there is no possibility anymore to configure the localization of the keyboard. I've done an installation in Spanish, but the keyboard layout seems to be en_US (or at least not Spanish). Furthermore, in "languae configuration" in YaST, the language setting isn't appied to the keyboard layout, and the checkbox "adapat keyboard settings" is always greyed out. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: I have to work with English keyboard layout on my Spanish keyboard. When a "category" from the list on the left of the yast control center is selected, if necessary an attempt is made to scroll the right hand side to the elements of the selected category. But I'd expect all the elements of the category to be exposed by the scrolling. Instead, sometimes only some elements are visible even if the window is plenty big enough to view them all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enter yast control center 2. Size window so that on the right hand side you can see about the top half of the first row of the Network Sevices category. 3. On the left hand side, click on "Network Services" or any category below it that had more than one row of elements on the left hand side.
