It is (obviously) still required for 9.1.x but 10.0.x uses: $ ldd /opt/intel/idb/10.0.026/bin/iidb|grep Xft libXft.so.2 => /usr/lib/libXft.so.2 (0x5562c000) As 9.1.x is quite old - 10.0, 10.1, 11.0 and 11.1 followed, I'd guess one could remove it. (That's always the problem: some old software still requires something which newer versions don't provide - and sometimes one cannot update the software; anyone providing me an update for Corel Draw for Linux? Since I first reported the bug, I have upgraded to the latest KDE, 4.2.4, which hasn't improved things. Under KDE 4.2 with Qt 4.4 is was (at least as far as I can see) a cosmetic problem with each two OK and Cancel buttons. Under KDE 4.3 with Qt 4.5 that bug grew larger and is now a pretty major bug: It's no longer possible to enter a SNV user name and password, rendering Kdesvn as a whole totally worthless. A bug fix release was made three weeks ago: http://kdesvn.alwins-world.de/blog/2009-05-16/kdesvn-131 I suggest adding that one to all repos that currently contain 1.3.0. I log in as root and use the init 3 command. Output says runlevel 3 has been reached. If I use the startx command it says an x server is already running. If I use init 5, it switches to init 5 but the gui doesn't come up. If I use the int 3 command and try to build the nvidia module, the installer tells me that x is running. The only way I've found to shut down X is to reboot and enter 3 at the grub screen. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Now it launches thunderbird, but with empty screen. It still does not open the message. I tried to add as command options: "-mail %u" - again blank screen "%u" - does not open it at all So, what is the right thing to put in the file associations settings, so thunderbird actually displays the message?
