It means last installed SUSE should start when you reboot PC. The cause is finishing installation. (Installation has 2 steps: the second start after reboot) ii) During installation bootloader also tries to add other installed OS from other partition to boot menu like chainloader or configfile. (It works only for GRUB) It is cause why you are not able to select create chainloader from just installed system. I accept that adding other OS is not ideal and it doesn't work perfect for adding other distribution like RH or Ubuntu. iii) If you want still create chainloader from just installed system. You have to do it manually. :( How to "create" chainloader from just installed system: ------------------------------------------------------- a) If you have other installed system your MBR include some boot code and start some bootloader (in this case GRUB) b) New installation always tries to modify MBR. It is necessary deselect 3 checkboxes "Boot from MBR" , "Write generic Boot Code to MBR", "Set active boot flag..." c) You have to select "Boot from Boot Partition" d) After reboot your PC start as usaully with last installed OS and there is necessary to modify menu.lst manually. It means add chainloader to new OS (just installed but only the first part) e) You can reboot PC and select your "chainloader". Your settings were valid (I explain later why) and it is cause why you didn't see any error message. The huge number of checkboxes has historical reason. We just rewrite UI from generated UI via special metadata to classical UI which can help us to better control user inputs or fix troubles in UI (e.g. it is too short input field) The major change you don't see because it is about handling UI NOT about changing components of UI like checkboxes, comboboxes etc. Better design of UI components is next step. Josef has a lot of ideas what can be change and what is better solution than what we have now. But I am sure that you are not happy if you see good UI with perfect usability but one half of settings don't work. There is still a lot of bugs and I prefer fixing existing bugs before creating new super, cool and ideal UI. For 11.2 there are newer versions of virt-manager and vm-install. Also strange is, when I plugin an external monitor, (non-mirrored config) it (sometimes) gets the default panel. However, it does not get the default Desktop folder. The default desktop should stay with the default pannel.
