I have a clean KDE installation from install DVD(Gnome haven´t tried so far). Networkmanager and knetworkmanager aren´t installed and used by default. So network is controlled by traditional method with ifup, not by networkmanager. First of all, i thought it could be a feauture, but then i tried LiveCD and networkmanager was installed and used on the system from LiveCD. I´m little confused. Should it be installed and used by default, or shouldn´t? This is the second kernel update in a row that has broken audio. In that case, the 2.6.27.19-3.2 kernel broke audio but upgrading alsa fixed the problem. Workaround: manually unload the driver before suspend, or install wireless-compat (April-1-2009 is enough, and probably also older, like january or so IIRC). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. From KDE4 menu select "exit->Suspend to Ram", or use s2ram. Actual Results: The system goes to text mode and then hangs. Expected Results: It should have suspended the machine. All IP addresses on this machine are statically assigned. I used YaST to create an alias address for eth0, called eth0:smtp with a different IP address on the same subnet, then saved. After that I ran ifconfig and the alias was there. Next I deleted the alias address, and saved. The file /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 did not change, and running ifconfig showed that the alias interface was still active. Editing the file by hand and then running ifconfig eth0:smtp down removed the alias interface, as expected. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create an alias address on eth0, called eth0:smtp 2. Save and see that the alias address is active with ifconfig 3. Delete the alias address. 4. Save and see that the alias address is still active and /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth0 is unchanged. Actual Results: I still have an active IP address bound to eth0:smtp. Expected Results: Alias interface should go away when deleted in YaST. All packages are from standard repos, and up to date. Seems to me to be a failure of YaST to rewrite the sysconfig file. Is YaST expecting numeric aliases? As far as I know there is no such restriction in ifconfig, alias names can be alphanumeric.
