If a memory stick is attached to the system before attaching the Canos IXUS 75, F-SPOT dowloads the memory stick contents into its previous. If I explicitly select the IXUS from F-SPOT's import dialog, it still accesses the memory stick, not the camera. Neither root=LABEL= nor root=/dev/hdX## syntax nor root=/dev/sdX## syntax work with either kernel. root=/dev/disk/by-path/pci* syntax does work, as does just as well absolutely no root= parameter whatsoever. The cause turned out to be wrong permissions for the mouse device: They are set to "crw-rw-r--", with "crw-rw-rw-" (o+w) it works. Originally filed under: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206566 with all the technical details. Right now it seems unclear if there are just wrong permissions for the USB mouse device in openSUSE or if this is a KDE problem which requires unjustified write access. Can someone check if from openSUSE side the permissions are ok? I would think yes, why should everyone be able to alter my mouse settings? It it also still not possible to resolve all symbols in libQtGui.so, so I hope this is fixed in a future release and the KDE people can get a meaningful crash dump. I know RC1 is old hat, but I figured if it would be fixed in RC2 it should have a bug report - but I didn't find one. Thank you! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.
