Now, with opensuse 11.0 and Firefox 3 it is again broken (I have updated the entry on mozilla site: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327323 ) Here is the problem: Whenever I click on a link to a file, which is provided as mimetype application/octet-stream (the server uses generic ones, as this is custom application I have no control over), firefox 3.0 only offers me to save the file, and does not allow me choose "Open with...", even if firefox itself detects the type of the file. In my situation I'm trying to open a xls (excel file). I know that the server sends myme type of application/octet-stream (checked with telnet to the url, and reading the headers). Firefox itself recognizes that this is excel spreadsheet, but it still offers only "Save" as option (see the attachment). If the web server correctly sets the mime type to application/msexcel, firefox offers "Open with" button, as well as selection which application to open the file (OO being the default). Using the same website, this is not a problem for firefox 2.0 - it behaves OK on opensuse 10.3, as well as using firefox 3 on windows. When running 'file' on the file in question, it returns: "Audio file sith ID3 version 2.4, MP3 encoding" which is the same as other files it successfully imported. Whe hardware clock is set to local time (in this case MEZ/CET, = UTC + 1h) : time of / filesystem (ls -ld --full-time /) is set to local time + difference to UTC (in this case local time + 1h = UTC + 2h) I think this is wrong. The time of / should be the local time of boot time. Otherwise pppd sets the route to the access gateway through the tunnel which breaks horribly. Already submitted after SuSE 9.2 cam out but has never been locked at as it seems. I wrote to the people listed in the Packager: and Vendor: tags, but neither of them said they were responsible for the SUSE RPM package. This is really bad! (1) The OBS should *NOT* allow Vendor: or Packager: tags to be set from specfiles, only from ~/.rpmmacros or whatever OBS uses. (2) And it should *force* the users OBS name/email into the package, because I can imagine that no one at Novell is reponsible for that package either. This would be a tremendous help for maintaining the system, but also a big help when writing reports.
