mkinitrd generates an instance of initrd which by default uses the US keytable
luksopen will fail on non-us keyboards while trying to read the password.
this is really nasty on german systems with "umlauts" in passwords...

A existing initrd imgage does not includes a status file which should
include the used configuration files as well as the command line used
for this specific initrd image.
Such a file would allow the mkinitrd to update an initrd image by using
the same configuration and command line (compare with bug #377096).

Summary: BUILD_DIST leads to osc misbehaviour

osc tries to use defaults set in $BUILD_DIST enviroment variable.
However, since the variable is usually set here in a way, that it can't be used
by osc on OBS and since most people get confused that "osc build" behaves in a
non documented way, this usage should get removed.
Alternatively, it may makes sense to support a $OSC_DEFAULT_REPO enviroment
instead, what can also be used by externals. However, it should be visible in
the osc output that this env. get used in any case.
