After the update to the new kmail-version (kde4-kmail-4.0.98-14.1) several things in the configure kmail window are not displayed anymore. So far I discovered: -No identities are shown -No incoming accounts are shown (outgoing accounts are shown) -Groupware is not configured any more This all works with the packages in the regular update repository. It only starts working again after I delete the cache file. I don't think this is supposed to happen and it has happened more than once, requiring me to physically go to the machine's "home" network so I can delete the file - which is not wanted at all. I have also attempted to install swfdec-browser-plugin. When I launch firefox and put about:plugins in the address line and I only see the swfdec-browser-plugin not adobe flash plugin. Currently have the following flash related rpm installed flash-player libflashsupport libflashsupport-32bit libswfdec-gtk2-90 libswfdec90 pullin-flash-player swfdec swfdec-browser-plugin Is their a working plugin for opensuse11.1 beta5 that will work with Novell's innerweb.novell.com? At first, I had no trouble adding widgets as I pleased. A few builds later, it changed to where I could add when I first ran plasma (either after installing the build or when I deleted the local plasma config files), but after I locked it, if I ever unlocked it and tried to add more, plasma locked up. I figured this was just one of the dangers of using an alpha and put up with it, hoping that some later build would fix it. However, now we've gotten to beta and the problem is still there. I've searched here, the KDE bugzilla and even Google and haven't found any mention of this problem, so perhaps I'm the only one experiencing it. However, it was suggested to me to submit a report here. Firefox in 11.0 is causing some serious problems. http://shaver.off.net/diary/2008/05/25/fsyncers-and-curveballs/ It often hangs my entire system for up to 30 seconds. After three days of running the troubled Firefox, my laptop HDD has started making some new, disturbing noises that it hasn't made before. I tried the LD_PRELOAD hack, but it doesn't seem to help much. Not sure why. This happens a.o. during kernel compilation (make -j3 bzImage) or during disk backup. Other browsers, e.g. Konqueror, do not have this problem -- not too long ago all fsync() and fdatasync() calls have been removed from Konqueror. I guess the slowdown is caused by the way Firefox saves URL's to the history -- calling fsync() or fdatasync() each time an URL has been added to the history ? As far as I know Firefox uses SQLite for a.o. making the URL history persistent. SQLite calls fsync() after every synchronous transaction.
